Radar-confirmed hail footprints, opened over Meade County. Drag to follow a storm across county lines; the map is the whole country. A county with no footprint drawn has no radar-confirmed swath on record yet, and its 280 NOAA events still stand.
This page holds every NOAA-documented hail and severe wind event in Meade County, South Dakota from 2016 to 2025. Meade County has logged 280 hail events in that time, 82 of them at 1.75″ (golf-ball) or larger, the size that routinely qualifies a roof for an insurance claim. Add 219 severe thunderstorm-wind events topping out at 100 mph, and most homes in the county have a documented weather event inside the typical carrier filing window. In Curbsight, a hail-hit roof shows up with its storm date already on the card, so nobody cross-references storm records by hand.
